Question:

If we did not have a central bank, how much power would the government have?

I know that a liberal is going to bring up the fact that the government provides roads and fire departments. I am going to note that nowhere did I state that we don't need the government on any scale whatsoever.

Answer:

Far too much As one of my favorite sages, Peter Drucker, so aptly put it Governments do two things well: wage war and inflate currencies. Give politicians control over the money supply and you have Instant Zimbabwe.
One word- Bilderberg
Very little economically it would reduce their strangle hold quite a bit
Thomas Jefferson said it best; If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around them will deprive the people of all property until their children wake up homeless on the continent their Fathers conqueredI believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs.
Not enough to function effectively.
