I too have been wondering why Renewable sources like Geo Thermal energy are not researched enough and a constant energy source created. I would say Lightning is highly improbable to devise infrastructure that would tap energy from that. And I would say we will have to depend upon naturally occuring lightnings. Artificially charging clouds with electrified sand and expecting them to clash might end up costing us so much that the energy we might derive might not be economically feasible. This is something like dragging icebergs from the poles to drought regions. Which was once tried but was not successful.
Misuse of a fire extinguisher can spread some fires. It is harder to foul things up by smothering a blaze. In addition, there are four classes of fires and not every extinguisher can put out every class of fire.
