Stephen Hawking states: In general relativity, bodies always follow straight lines in four-dimensional space-time, but they nevertheless appear to us to move along curved paths in ourthree-dimensional space.Can anyone explain this? What is precisely meant by the four-dim. space-time? And why do they appear to us moving along curved paths?

No carpet or pad has asbestos it it. Old glue down tile does. It is called VA tile or Vinyll Asbestos and it is 8x8 or 12x12.. Wear a dust mask though, dust mites love carpet and pad.
