Question:

Industrial/ Scaffold Piercing?

I just got my scaffold piercing done today and everything went well. I was just wondering how long the healing process would take? Does it vary with different people? And is using sea-salt and warm water the best way to clean it?Cheers x

Answer:

Stretching shouldn't harm in case you're giving it sufficient time... so this somewhat isn't a sturdy assessment! A single cartilage piercing would not harm plenty extra effective than your standard earlobe (lobe being 2, cartilage piercing being 3 on a scale of a million to ten). yet i've got by no skill had a scaffold or orbital of any style, so i've got not got plenty first hand journey. definitely nonetheless i would not difficulty approximately it. it is going to likely be over in 30 seconds, a million minute tops. and you get to return away with a reasonably new piercing! Yay!
1/4tsp od non-iodised sea salt in a cup of warm water. And yes, that is the best way to clean it. Use a cotton ball to soak it, then get at the crusties with a q-tip. Healing varies for everyone. Also depends if you have one long bar, or two shorter ones. And if you sleep on it. Just be patient :) Industrials often get hypertrophic scarring, which is like a little bump. Hot, wet, pure chammomile teabag soaks will help with that.
Congrats on the new holes. I found with my industrial healed very fast (4-5 weeks). The sea salt and water works but I would recommend JJ antiseptic wash. Its pain free and has a little better germ killing ability. Also try not to sleep on that side for a while because sometimes the pressure will impede the healing. Good Luck.
Scaffolds usually take 6-12 months to heal - if you got it done with the long bar to start with, expect it to be longer than that and a lot more painful and tricky to heal. If it was done correctly, with two separate bits of jewellery first, it'll be easier. It does vary with different people, but not usually by that much - if the recommended healing time is six months, yours is not going to be properly healed in a month even if it feels like it. At five months it might be. Yes, sea salt and warm water is good. Twice a day - no more and no less.
Sea salt warm water is the best way to clean it, and the healing time varies from person to person - can be 3 months to 1 year. I have a scaffold too - congrats on the new piercing!
