Question:

iPod USB connector cables?

I have a couple of iPod USB connector cable around, and I can't tell which ones are USB 2 or USB 1. Is there some kind of physical difference that can help me to distinguish between the two? I am so technologically challenged, its ridiculous.

Answer:

WHat do you mean what do you need it for? For the ipod? Just find the one that fits. There's one that fits into the ipod and another one that fits into the charger. It's charger -2- ipod and the other ipod-2-computer/laptop. I think the charger one is more squared and the ipod is the flatter one. I think that's what your asking.
The USB-Dock Connector cable NEVER was USB 1.1, it is too slow and can not power the iPod. It's ALWAYS been USB 2.0.
Uhm regrettably you won't be in a position to apply different cables aside from the apple cable. As one tip of the cable is the typical port USB, the different end is specially formed for the ipod regardless of it being touch, classic, nano, or in spite of. you're purely decision is to purchase a yet another cable from apple or seek the ends of the earth for a matching one.
There's no difference between USB 1 or USB 2.0. Except the speed. USB 2.0 is newer, and so is faster. But, it is only fast if your computer's USB port is USB 2.0 as well. If your com uses USB 1, but you used a USB 2.0 cable, the speed is gonna be USB 1 anyway. But Ipod does come with firewire. USB connectors are rectangular in shape. Whereas the one for firewire have 6 sides to it.
