Question:

Iron overdose. is it possible?

Ok. so I was reading this story a friend wrote about someone who committed suicide by overdosing on iron? Can this actually happen and how much would it take? It seems like the body would just get rid of the excess or something.

Answer:

Corvette ZR1 with a grayish color
You need to get to a hospital for iron poisoning. Nausea, abdominal pain, and vomiting can occur around 20 minutes after ingestion. It can damage your stomach (ulceration in stomach and bleeding), lungs, kidneys, liver, and blood vessels. Get medical attention ASAP.
It is a fact that you can overdose on water*, so I think it's very possible to overdose on anything. Lets not get into specifics of amounts, types, substance, or methods of ingestion. The human body is a marvelous organic machine that needs to be treated with wisdom. Everything in moderation. Their was a college sorority group that had a water drinking game instead of alcohol for initiation. Sounds safe . One contestant died after drinking (?)gallons of water in (?) amount of time. Google it
Actually High iron can kill it just takes a long time. It interferes with the liver. Causes it to enlarge this will cause undue stress on surrounding organs. If you took extra iron your liver would keep some and pass the rest, but it would build up. I have a enlarged liver and I retain Iron. I actually give blood to reduce the amount of iron in my blood. You couldn't die quickly from and Iron Overdose unless we're talking an Anvil to the Head. Desert.A fellow Epicurian!
Honda Civic Type-R (Japan/Malaysian Spec), only comes in white, but I like it to be in Silver.
