I took my car to the mechanic to get the radiator flushed and I just put 20‘ rims on my dodge intrepid when he lift the car up high my wheels where like kinda hanging. Is that bad? I asked him and he said no that the springs support the weight of the wheels. I don‘t know man it didn‘t look right to me but then again im not an expert on cars. So what do you think is he right?
i would iron it, and then stitch the edges in a few places--if you only iron it then it will tend to peel off, and if you only sew it then it won't be as secure.
well hello mr fireman, well is it an iron patch? if it is just iron it on.if its not go to the fabrick store and ask if they have like a spray on fabrick glue that will also work.
remove those rims! you are the one doing the damage.bearings gears, brakes, suspension, enginejust about everything is damaged with those rims on that car. the car probably appreciated being lifted. take my advice, trust me.
Your car is designed to be lifted as you have explained. The suspension does have give, and is designed to drop from not having any weight on the axles. However, your 20 inch wheels are not doing your bearings, axles, or your brakes any favors. You should expect these items, including suspension parts to wear faster with these larger than factory wheels on your car. You can safely go to 17 inches, and expect less wear on it's components will last longer. If you decide to leave those 20's on there just be careful, and check the balljoints and other compnents more frequently. Just to be on the safe side.
Doesn't matter what size the rims are. The lift will not hurt it.
