Question:

is it legal for my landlord to build a wall closing off the attic?

We have lived here almost a month (in Columbus, Ohio) and have been using the attic for storage because our basement floods when it rains (another problem we've been trying to get them to take care of)Well today they showed up to take care of a few others problems we've had around the house, one of those being no insulation in the atticThey tell us they're going to build a wall in the closet leading to the attic so we cannot go up there.? Their reason was not mentionedNot quite sure how that works, but it seems they're trying to keep us from being able to go up and inspect if they actually insulated the placeMy question is if it is legal for them to close off a part of the house that was originally part of the house when leases were signed and the possesion of the house was handed over to us.

Answer:

I Carry the only Radiant Barrier insulation that actually has a true R-14.5 Value and is certified by Energy StarIts equal to 6 inches of fiberglass insulationMost have an assumed R valueView my 'Total Insulation' productI install it using a staple gun inside the attic on the back side of the roof trusses.
Yes, they can change it The attic is not living space and not covered in your leaseI would block you too, storing things in hte attic is not only a fire hazard but they might be held liable if you are going up there and it is not fishsed off in order to be used for access.
