Question:

Is it normal to having bruising and pain around the area where an IV had been?

I had to get an IV yesterday for a procedure. As usual because of my small roller veins it took 3 tries. Today I have 2 nasty bruises. One in my arm around the first failed attempt bruising it a little larger than a quarter. Yesterday it was like a tender swollen knot under the skin. The site of the 2nd attempt is fine. It was finally placed in the back of my hand which is now really bruised about 1 1/2 diameter around the hole and it hurts to move my hand. Is this normal? This has not noticeably happened before.

Answer:

Try blowing out any dust inside the fire alarms with a can of compressed air, sold for computers. Dust accumulation sometimes skews the sensitivity. The dust particles pick up scents or smoke residue.
More than likely it will.Although ,you hiding another source of smoke might increase the risk.
Usually they don't. However, you had to offer a credit or debit card when you rented the room. If the room is non-smoking, and you smoke in it, then your card is going to get a hit for the cleaning bill, hundreds of dollars worth. So if your room is non-smoking, you'd better go outside to smoke.
