Question:

Is it possible to make cotton fabric from cotton I grow in my garden?

I know you can make thread by handspinning, but can you make fabric, too somehow? If so, how do you do it?

Answer:

the mass that has been lost during the reactionThe lost mass(mass defect) of the reactant has changed into energyThis is according to Albert Einstien's Theory of Mass-Energy ConservationIt is said that mass can change into energy(vice versa) if met certain criteria.
It is the energy released when the atoms merge From Wikipedia: The conversion of nuclear mass to energy is consistent with the mass-energy equivalence formula ΔE Δm.c?, in which ΔE energy release, Δm mass defect, and c the speed of light in a vacuum (a physical constant).
Just as in a chemical reaction (such as the reaction between hydrogen and oxygen, when the electrons reconfigure themselves into a lower energy state to form water, and give out energy) so in a nuclear reaction the nucleons rearrange themselves into a lower energy state and give out energyThe energy involved is generally around a million times greater than in chemical reactions, so the equation (Change in mass) (change in energy)/(square of speed of light) give a measurable quantityIn chemistry it is too small to measure or detectIt isn't that mass is converted into energy, but that the energy change can be detected as a mass changeIt's energy that has mass, not mass that has energy.
It comes from the breaking of nuclear bondsThe force needed to secure the nucleus together is held by the strong force, which is 38 orders of the magnitude of the force of gravityForce is the gradient of energyThe energy gathered by breaking a handful of these bonds becomes exponential.
Yes! You do have to spin it firstThen you will need a weaving loomYou will want one that will warp a lot of threads to an inchYou will need to warp the loom then you can weave the cotton you have spunI would suggest finding a class on weaving or at least someone who can show you how to warp the loomCheck your phone book for yarn shopsThey may be able to put you in contact with a weavers guildGuilds sometimes have equipment to teach on or loan out to guild membersThey also have a wealth of knowledge about weaving cloth.
