Question:

Is it possible to permanently attach any type of ceramic to any type of metal?

This is actually a material and manufacturing techniques question, but how do I attach ceramics to metal permanently, how does it come together and stay there? Is the ceramics heated up then poured or molded onto the metal piece and let cool? Any thoughts or speculations welcomed, thank you.

I would have to say that bonding the two materials would work best. One way is thermal spraying at high temperature as you suggest. Typically the metal base would be grit blasted to increase surface area for the spray to adhere. After spraying the ceramic coating the parts are introduced to a heat treat cycle to complete the bond. This bond becomes as permanent as possible. There is much more information on the web.
