Question:

Is it safe to use two spare tire jacks to lift my car?

I have a ford taurus, I wanna change my own oil. My mom also has a Taurus. How safe would it be to use our two spare tire jacks to lift the front end of my car to drain the oil? Assuming I use the parking brake and block the tires etc, of course.

Answer:

NO!, You can get Jack STANDS pretty cheap, DO not crawl under a car on jack(s). Cinder blocks are OK.
No, tire jacks are not safe or sable enough to work under the car. There's enough ground clearance to reach under and drain the oil without jacking up the car. The oil filter may be a different story. But I would never rely on a tire jack alone to keep the car up. They are not that stable or safe. Buy yourself two good quality jack stands (minimum 3 ton size). Don't buy the ones made of cold rolled steel and welded together (they're not that safe). Good ones are not that expensive (about $50 a pair). You'd still want to set the brake and block the wheels.
