I have small capacity motorcycle, tvs star city. I want to buy high cc motorcycle now. Every motorcycle is having at least front or front and rare both disc brakes. I do not have experience on it. I am a good driver but I have experience on drum brakes. I am feeling nervous. I heard people saying it is very critical thing to operate.
Oh, BS. The only thing to know is when operating in the rain; water will slow the braking action until a few revolutions of the discs. So you grab a fistful, it feels like brake failure, you grab a bunch more, the brakes dry off and now you over-braked and the front end skids out. So in the rain leave about 5 seconds of stopping distance, brake with 2 fingers, give it 1/2 second to dry-off before you overreact. Better yet, allow 8 seconds stopping time and use just the rear brakes. Diesel vans have a rain switch that turns off the front brakes so they can still steer.
Disc brakes are the same as drum brakes as far as operation.squeeze/press the lever and slow down the bike. Just like any other bike, some brakes are more sensitive than others so make sure to try some parking lot manoeuvres until you get used to their feel.
Operate the same a brake is a brake disc brakes are usually on all new cars and bikes only the lower powered vehicles have drum brakes these days you will do fine if you just remember what has been previously said by the people before me
