If so I wouldn't feel too safe drinking tap water since a lot of hydrants are corroded inside and probably have decaying bacteria inside. Also everytime the fire hydrants are opened by firefighters maybe the water can get contaminated. Or Maybe since the water pressure forces everything out there is nothing to worry about. Or maybe most jurisdictions have seperate water lines for hydrants and for drinking water. Maybe there is nothing to worry about, fire hydrants and water lines going to houses are on separate lines. Nice to have that reassurance next time you drink tap water from the valve.
