Question:

Is quartz a type of mineral?

Is quartz a type of mineral?

Answer:

Gold will not grow inside quartz, instead gold can be found AROUND quartz veins. It is to do with hydrothermal waters carrying dissolved gold around and into areas of weaker or already differed rock - in this case a quartz vein. As the water cools the gold preciptates, forming the gold deposits. Common in Australia.
If you are asking how much money you can get for them, the answer is basically Nothing. About the only way that Quartz is worth anything is if it is in the form of very large, well-formed crystals (and by large, I am talking about the size of a pencil.) Quartz is the most abundant rock-forming mineral and so is too common to be worth much.
Probably not very much. Quartz is the most common mineral here on the surface of the Earth. Crystals might be able to fetch a couple of dollars if you're eager to sell them to your friends. It also depends on the size and type. Many, many, many rocks have quartz in them. It is always more fun to keep them to yourself for memories on when you found them!
Not a lot of money. It's a common rock.
