Is spinel a type of Quartz?

Is spinel a type of Quartz?

Answer:

Clean them, polish them, and use them as display pieces? Yard decoration? A hammer and a rock tumbler to make jewelry? Rent a rock saw and make bookends? All of these, and more, would be interesting, and they are fun, as I can attest to. However, if you're looking to sell it, silicon dioxide (quartz) is the most common mineral and rock on the planet. No one but the gullible will pay you money for quartz. Your best bet would be to polish it into obelisks, irradiate them at a lab, and sell them to some New Age morons as crystals of power, or whatever it is that they believe in.
i say make a cool thing with quartz
