Question:

Is the vent hose attached to a dryer important?

Me and my roommate had a debate over why our dryer wasn't working and I claimed that it was due to the vent hose in the back not being hooked up. It was completely off the dryer. He claimed it has nothing to do with it and said it was just busted. I'm pretty sure I'm right but could anyone explain why?

Answer:

Well we use it for gas porposes at work and it holds up to 100 as long as your glue is the good kind not that cheap kind. Or if you just use short pieces and make a went on it it shoudl hold real good. By making a vent I mean on the cannon pass the air where when you fire it so make it half way.
I made many potato cannons in my life and have seen the endurance of pvc pipe, i would say YES. Also it should have a pressure rating printed on the side.
If you are looking for the kind with the bubble-wrap in between two shiny sides of the accordion-style sun shades, you can look in your local hardware store's insulation department. They sell it in rolls.
a crush is someone you really like but never dateyet. Yeah, ur one.
Sch. 40 pipe should hold 50 psi but if you need to glue any fittings together you should make sure you are following the manufacturer's specifications if you don't have any experience with it. Compressing air can be dangerous because it is explosive when released all at once, and 50 psi is a lot of pressure. Stay clear of the ends of the pipe or any fittings that could fail and fly off when the pipe is under pressure.
