he is a very high withered, small shoulder horsei bought him a size 78 that fits good length wise but it to big for his shoulder/chest areaif i put my hand in it and lift there is a good 6 inch gap at the shoulderi left it on him one night and it shifted to the side a little and now i am terrified that it will slip under his legs on night and do some major damageis there a type of blanket made for thoroughbreds?
The shoulders shouldn't be too tightWhat must not happen is that the front slips under his chest or the top slides back so it is giving pressure on the withers Is this a heavy canvas blanket of on of the lighter materials? Has it got leg straps as well as cross surcingles? If it is to big around the front and you cannot return it what you can do is to put a pleat in the neck line with a few stitches Can you put a picture up of it on the horse? It is very unlikely to slip right round if it has leg straps and surcinglesYou can tighten the leg strap on the side that it is slipping to and that might help.
