Question:

Is there a drawback in opening and closing the circuit for a regular (1.5V AA) battery?

I'm working on some LED lighting - white 20000mcd (25mA per LED, 3.5V required)I have 5 volts and a 56 ohm resistor for each branch of LEDsThe circuit connects when two aluminium foil sheets - separated by a weather stripping layer - come into contact (closing the circuit). Is it a problem for batteries to switch on and off repeatedly? If so, how can I go about using a DC source to light my project? Thanks in Advance! ^_^
