I own a squier affinity strat, and recently bought a MIM telecasterI just played the squier again, and am considering that instead of getting another strat, i'd just change the neck, tuners, pickups (and the pickguard, since i want an SSS but have a fat strat) and possibly the bridge: basically leaving the knobs and bodyBut, i don't think there's a good place to buy FENDER necks (not squier), and was wondering if anyone knew one? My current squier has one of those retardedly large headstocks and i'm not sure as to the quality of the neck itselfI could upgrade it (giving it the pickups and tuners of an MIA deluxe) for less than the cost of a MIA standard (i think)
Scrub potatoes and prick with a forkBake in a 400-425°F oven for 40 to 60 minutes or until done
Wash the skin of the potato thoroughly. If cooking in the oven , preheat the oven to 425 degrees wrap potato's in tin foil and cook in middle of oven for 1 hourif cooking in microwave( this is what i do) wash potato's, take a thin knife and run it completely through the potatoRemove knife and nuke potato on high for 6 minutes let sit in microwave for 2 more minutes.I use large potato's.If yours are med cook for about 4 to 5 mins. This make take a minute or two more depending on how high your microwave cooks.
Heat oven to 400 degrees FScrub the potatoes cleanUsing a knife or fork, pierce potatoes a few times so they won't explode during bakingPut potatoes in oven and bake 30-45 minutes (depending on potato size)Turn oven off and leave the potatoes for about 15 more minutes WITHOUT opening the ovenWhen you can easily pierce the potatoes all the way through with a fork or a knife, they are ready.
So very easy to doYou can do them in the microwave, but they taste so much better cooked in a real ovenPurchase two large baking potatoesRinse them thoroughly and pat dry with paper towelsSpread them lightly with a little cooking oil or shortening, just enough to lightly coat the potatoPierce the potato once or twice with a forkWrap each potato separately in aluminum foil to cover the potato tightly and securelyPop those foil wrapped potatoes in your oven that has been preheated to between 400-450 degreesThe cooking time will vary (usually about an hour), depending on the size of the potato, and your oven temperatureHere's how I can tell when they are doneTake a clean dishcloth or potholder in hour handSlightly squeeze the potato, being careful to protect your hand from the hot foilIf the potato gives somewhat, and is soft to the touch, it is doneIf the potato is still hard, just cook it until it's softBe sure not to overcook them, as they will be dryGood luck with dinner, and have fun with your date.
Actually, you canAs long as you are using real Fenders and they are coming from the same origin (Mexico, US, Japan, etc)Although the shapes of the heel are different, you can bolt them up with no problemexcept maybe having to redrill the neckThe way the Strat neck was developed is very straightforwardLeo took a Tele neck blank and cut a radius on the bottom, then made a template to match the new heelThe distance from the 21st fret to the end of the neck is exactly the same on both the Strat and TeleThat being said, the neck pocket on a Tele might be a bit tight when mounting a Strat neck because the nut width on most Teles is narrower than a Strat, so the taper of the pocket might be just a little off.
