Is there a huge difference from a full exhaust system to a slip on for sport bikes?
both axles are not the same length and he might be installing the wrong length axle and it,s not cogging very good inside the transmission ! also make sure the c-clip is on the end of the axle before installing it !
Bad mechanic. Maybe he installed the wrong axel. Left side and right side are different lengths. It's POSSIBLE he used the wrong axel. I just got ripped off at Charlie's Service Center in Sunset Utah. Brought my wife's Hyundai to them because of cracked boots. It was cheaper to replace the axels than it was to reboot the old ones. Cost me $540.00 for both axels. THEN one transmission seal started leaking. They wanted another $120.00 to fix that. In the mean time I heard that Les Schwab Tire Center would have done the job for $365.00. AND with the advent of a leaking seal, they would have charged an additional $35.00 for the new seal - NO MORE LABOR COSTS. Obviously I went to the wrong place. I'm wondering if you've run into a similar situation. With my seal leak I decided to go to Les Schwab because it was cheaper to pay them to do the job. And if there turns out to be something else wrong with their work they don't re-charge for labor. Charlie's Garage? NEVER AGAIN! And I told them that. They just said Sorry to loose your business. Some people! Hope this helped. '')
If you are asking about a full header system vs. A slip on . Yes a big difference. Slip ons are more for looks than preformance.
Yes, and on older bikes the gains can be even better. Horsepower is just one of the improvements. Weight. Say it with me, LIGHTER IS FASTER ! Lose the pounds and bike will preform better overall, braking, handling, and acceleration. Get a full exhaust system if money is not a factor. You can also lose the center stand, every bit helps.
a slip on offers very little if any type of performance gain,in fact you dont even need to rejet or remap with a slip on. A full exhaust system actaully will make a differance in performance when properly installed. Thats why they give you the dyno numbers with the exhaust system.
