Question:

Is there a phobia name for the fear of construction cranes?

I have an odd fear of construction cranes. I literally get chills and almost dizzy anytime I see cranes. I get very nervous and almost want to cry. I know this is so odd but, I've seen phobias of things that are even more odd so I wonder...is there a phobia for my fear? Does anyone else share my fear?

Answer:

Devastator-aphobia. Sorry. It's a bad reference to the Transformers cartoons in the 1980s. The constructicons were robots who linked together to form Devastator. It was kind of a Voltron rip-off, except with backhoes and forklifts instead of robot lions.
Rat phobia!! I don't know the exact term but I find them very disgusting.. I can't stand seeing one d*mn creature even on tv.. I also have a fear of ghosts even if I haven't seen one.. My biggest fear is losing my support system (friends and family).. that's like losing my own life. Libra, Pisces rising

Cranes were a christian analogy for saving people. The crane would be used to lift someone out of hell. So, maybe the phobia comes with the realisation that we are actually in hell and a crane won't do that much good. As far as robots, they're all bad and creations of Lucifer. The good ones are the Saints and the bad ones the devil; they're both Satan's creations who's goal is to destroy humans. Of course they work with Satan and do time travel and all that garbage.
It took some research but here goes nothing. Aeorema were the cranes used in greek theatre. If the fear of cranes is specifically related to a fear of being snatched up by one, maybe Aeoremaphobia would be a more correct term. Cheers
