Question:

Is this guinea pig cage ok?

Is this guinea pig cage ok for one guinea pig??

Answer:

Sorry, but it's not big enough. You have to get AT LEAST (MINIMUM) 5 square feet for 1 guinea pig. I have about 6-7.5 square feet for my 2 pigs, and they're happy and healthy. You don't have to over-do it, like when people say you need a 11 square foot cage for 2 guinea pigs. Now get real! (Not you) A cage 4-5 square feet will be just fine. Don't listen to those other people. Just make sure you take your guinea pig out regularly! Hope this helps! Good luck!
The truth is, if you wish to own a happy and content guinea pig, I would find a larger cage. Guinea pigs do poorly in small confinements. They love to explore. Even with a bigger cage, make sure it gets time to run around (though make sure to watch him/her very closely). I am glad you were concerned for the well-being of your guinea pig; it makes my heart glad to know there are still people who care about animals.
No, this cage is too small. Guinea pigs need a lot of room. If you're getting 2 (which you definitely should, they are happier and live longer), you will need a cage with about 10.5 square feet of room. Even with 1 guinea pig, you need about 7 square feet. Try a CC cage, as someone has suggested. They are inexpensive, easy to put together, and great for guinea pigs.
