Question:

Jacking/Lifting my carexperts please?

Ok I have a Mustang and need to replace an exhaust pipe that runs from the factory headers (keeping those) to about the middle of the car. i have a 2.5 ton floor jack and 2 jack stands. is there a point on the car that I can jack both sides up evenly at the same time, then put the jackstands under, or should I do one side at a time? how high do jack stands normally go? I need as much room as possible. Should I put the stands directly behind the front tires? just wanna make sure im safe here. thanks

Answer:

Did you work emergency brake a few times to re-adjust calipers, try first, if doesn't fix, bleed rear calipers and refill master cylinder.
You have air in the brakes. If you didnt bleed them the air in the brake lines will compress (thats why brakes have been hydraulic for 70+ years). Just screw out the bleeder screws (usually on the brake cylinders or calipers) then pump the brakes making sure there is plenty of brake fluid in the reservor. After several minutes of doing this (pushing pedal down hard then letting up all the way and repeat) tighten bleeder screws and top of reservor again and try the brakes.
you should a minimum of get a three ton jack or greater beneficial, think of roughly it like this. a a million/2 ton is one thousand kilos, your is between 5000 and 6000 kilos this is an exceedingly freaking heavy vehicle. at any fee. to be risk-free get a 4 ton or attempt to apply the jack you have and use jack stands to assist the vehicle so which you do no longer harm your self. i wish i'd desire to be of help to you. thank you!
DMJ , make sure you ste the parking brake too, the best spot is just behind the front tires. It would be safer to jack up one side at a time and then check the stands before you get under the car. be careful!!!!!
should I do one side at a time? yes one side at a time. Just behind the wheel just under the door is the PINCH weld. your floor jack and stand should be plenty enough for the mustang. Good Luck
