I used to drink more water but now I dont drink very much and I've bee hearing that if your body doesnt get much water it retains the water and so I'm afraid that this might be happening to me and that its making me weight more, do you agree? Please advice.

Answer:

Group 1 elements would give up easily.
group 1 elements give up the easiest, then it decreases to the group 8 elements (noble gases)
According to the preodic table, the left hand side bottom corner has the least eletronegativity so they give up electrons easilyWhile, the right hand side top corner has the most electronegativity so they attract electrons easilyUsually the iner gas are not counted to the tendency of attracting electrons.
Yes, you are rightIf you do not drink enough water, your body wants to hold on to what little water you give itI used to not like drinking water, but then I tried adding flavoring to waterYou can try sugar-free kool-aid, crystal light, or any other mixes that are low in calories (usually 5-10 calories per large glass)Some people also like to squeeze lemon and add a bit of splenda to their water, like a light lemonade! Also, eat as little sodium as you canCheck the labels of the food you eat to see how much it containsFoods such as frozen dinners, chips, canned products like soups or beans, and others are very high in sodiumDo not add salt to your foods Eating more foods rich in potassium helps control your electrolytes to help keep your body hydrated and flush excess waterFoods such as bananas, potatoes, berries, strawberries, most vegetables and fruits, unsalted nuts, and yogurt have lots of potassiumAlso, if you do not eat enough protein, your muscles will hold on to water to help maintain themselvesIf you eat too much fiber, especially soluble (found in whole grains and beans), you need to drink even more water because those foods expand in your stomach by grabbing on to water.
