Question:

Just got new carpeting...?

What is the best way to take care of carpeting? How often should I vaccum? Should I use Resovle on it everytime I vaccum? Or any other suggestions? I would like to keep this carpet looking great for as long as possible. Thank You.

Answer:

Carpet manufacturers recommend vacuuming every day. Do not use resolve or any OTC product for the 1 st year minimum... Have it professionally cleaned at least once a year by a certified cleaner . You ll avoid warranty hassles ( if a problem should arise). Don t do your own steam cleaner ( if at all possible)since the temperature on these machines won t be at the right temp to properly do carpet GL
Vacuum twice a week but only use Resolve on spot stains. If it a light colored carpet, you could also Scotch Guard the high traffic areas to extend the new look of the carpet in those areas.
The best way to keep carpet in great shape is to make sure you have a good vacuum cleaner and pay extra attention to high traffic areas, vacuum extra on those areas. Your vacuum cleaner should have a 12 house power or higher. As far as Resovle goes only use as needed.
Vacuum when it looks like it needs to be. there inst really any 'set' amount you need to do it, it all depends on how often the room is used. i think at a minimum you should do it once a week and at most once a day. You don't need to clean it every day, but if you invest in a pressurized carpet steam cleaner then you can give it a quick clean once a week or very two weeks or so to stop dirt from building up and causing discoloration. if you an afford it then buy a Vacs carpet cleaner and use that once every two weeks or so instead of the steamer. regular vacuuming and a steaming/cleaning every two weeks or so will keep it looking and smelling great and lasting longer! Good luck!
