Question:

labor hours to replace transmission solenoid?

saturn 2002 sl200 needs a transmission pan, filter fluid and a new solenoid. needs est. of labor hours for solenoid seperate.

Answer:

Do you mean the line pressure control (LPC) solenoid? (There are several solenoids in any transmission, but the LPC is the one that most commonly fails.) A local transmission shop (see below) takes five hours to replace a LPC solenoid. If you go by the book they should be charging for more like three hours. Not a cheap job, and not one for an inexperienced person lacking specialized equipment either. Of course, it goes without saying that you would have prevented its failure (and the expensive repairs!) altogether, if you'd serviced the transmission in accordance with the manufacturer's maintenance schedule.
Wait, a service some times, covers a add to time not a separate charge. Unless it is on the side cover. Shoppe around.
well need to take the pan off to get to the solenoid and have to remove a few things to get the pan off so your in the 2 hour range to do it and reinstall it
I suggest you add a bit more details.
