its greater useful to positioned on 4. whoever thinks putting snow tires on the front wont help guidance and braking is retarted. front wheels do lots of the braking, and all of the guidance. 2 tires on the back is sweet, prevents you from getting caught and fishtailing. yet yet another 2 snow tires provides you with plenty greater useful braking and guidance. i recommend, do you particularly need your mustang to be wrapped around a easy positioned up?
Studded tires are great on ice. They are pretty useless in snow. There would be no advantage at all in going to studded tires unless you live where only ice covers the roads and you never get snow. Studded tires are not allowed all winter either in a majority of states they must be removed on or before April first.
The car will have better handling with the same tires front and rear. Equal traction front and rear gives you more predictable handling, and will give you better control of the car when you're driving on snowy and icy roads. Whoever told you that 2 is okay cares more about making a quick sale than how safe you are in bad weather.
Yes you can, but it's better to have all four.
