A 499$ iPad or a 599$ HP Laptop? I just want an everyday thing to do school work, play games, etc. what are your thoughts?
Laptop. The iPad is an expensive toy for adults. If you want to get work done, buy a laptop.
Well the HP runs a full operating system (not a gimped, cut-down OS like the iPad), offers much more in terms of multi-tasking, has support for a massive library of programs and games whether free, open-source or paid and is almost as portable as the iPad and is much more practical since you can actually attach things like USB drives, cameras and other accessories you might already own to the HP. In other words, buy the HP laptop, it's only a $100 more you get far more for your money than buying a glorified iPod Touch that is just as portable.
Laptop for sure. Unless the only things you have to do are read books, browse the internet, play a couple of games. School work? What kind? Like type reports and stuff? I dont think the iPad has a good word editor. And the iPad is kinda overpriced. Id rather wait for the next version of it. Laptops are completely customizable. If you wanna cuztomize your iPad youll have to jailbreak it and stuff. On a Laptop if anything goes wrong you can just format it. You can connect any device to it. You dont need another computer to watch movies on it unlike the iPad in which you gotta sync with the computer and stuff and only a few formats work on it.
Laptop no doubt. With the laptop you are free to install any computer software you want, and not just what apple allows.
