I have a Acer 2002w just over 2yrs old. The other day it started to flicker then it went black. I can turn it off then on and get the picture back for a few seconds. I have also hooked this on to another computer and had the same results. Thanks for any help.
The bulb might be going out. The one thing I hate about plasma screens and LCD, is that it costs about the same thing or sometimes MORE to fix them as it does to buy a whole new one.
behind the screen in an lcd monitor is a strip light (long thin tube) similar the the ones you may have in your kitchen or in a store, after plenty of use the tube dies (you must have seen it with strip lights where they flicker and won't come on) if you can't replace it yourself take it to a dealer and ask how much it would be to replace it if it's expensive you'll need to replace the monitor
