no I think TFT has alot more to offer.TFT is definately High Def when you view you desktop and stuff.But you can't watch movies as the RAM has to be faster and the CPU usage capacity has to be higher.
Sorry, but the first answer was nonsense. LCD monitors that have at least 720 vertical pixels and an HDMI input can display hi-def TV signals. My Dell 20.1 wide-screen LCD display has native 1680x1050 resolution, has an HDMI input, and can very nicely display HDTV signals. Look for one with at least an 800:1 contrast ratio, and a fast response time (under 6ms is ideal).
