The first two series of 1.5V to replace the original battery battery (note the negative), such as the light is very dark, but the original resistance resistor connected in parallel with the appropriate resistance, such as brightness up (for ordinary dry batteries internalresistance), resistance can be removed in parallel, then add a battery with 4.5V power supply to light tube brightness and single operating current not exceeding 10mA (too much current is too large to make LED accelerated aging). Personally think, it is best to buy a battery with the specifications, or with three sections of nickel hydrogen battery series (voltage of about 3.6V or more) replacement, to maintain the original charging function, so that the use of more economical.
In principle, it is possible to make appropriate changes to the original circuit: charging LED lamps, using a 4V battery, and working voltage of an ordinary white light LED is about 2.5-3.2V. The 4V battery is powered by a voltage drop and is limited to dozens of paralleled LED power supplies (each LED operating current is about 5-10mA).
