My daughter is very observant. If I turn towards somewhere she's not used to, she says, why are we going this way?. When we go around curves, she acts like it's a ride and says, Weeeeee! If I'm going a little too fast, she somehow feels it and tells me, Mom, slow down or the cops will get you. Sure enough, last week, the cops DID get me and she just happened to be with me that day too. I told her, You were right, I wasn't being very smart and was speeding, now the cops got me. Of course, it was in a place where nobody goes the speed limit and the cop just had to pick me to pull over.
Go to a sports shop and purchase the spray on anti-fog hockey players use on their face shields. Great stuff. Any non-solvent based adhesive will work well on the loose trim.
I have some luck on replacing the strip with a hot glue gun. As for the foggy face shield, I find that folding a bandanna into a triangle shape and then tie it around your head to cover your nose and mouth will help. This will also help keep your face a little warmer.
You will usually find that rubber requires contact cement to stick to the helmet. For snowmobile use, you need a face shield that has an air gap (kinda like double glazing) and it won't fog. You could also try a soap wipe on the inside too but for cold weather, the correct face shield is the best bet
