Question:

lighter menstrual cycle?

does lighter menstrual cycles means longer periods.

Answer:

not particularly...
not at all.
no, defenitly not. they don't have anything to do with each other; light/heavy and short/long. they're separate, and don't affect the other.
certainly classes. some women human beings spot approximately 7 to 9 days after their classes, in many circumstances lasts an afternoon or so and could be very mild. If it rather is heavy, prolonged or problematic, pass and spot your GP or family individuals making plans nurse.
For me personally, the lighter my cycle, the longer it lasts. Also the heavier, the shorter. Still it's not an exact science and it isn't that way 100% of the time. Also, if a cycle is lasting too long (i'd say over 7 or 8 days) you may have another issue, light or not. Hope this helps!
