Question:

Losing weight on the night shift?

I became an RN 9 months ago, and have worked the night shiftever sinceEven though I swore I would not gain weight (nursing is the 1 profession for obesity.really), I have gained 10 poundsIf I knew what the problem was, I could fix itI exercise every day, about 30 minutesI try not to eat before going to bed in the morning, but the problem is that I don't really know when to eatIs my metabolism slower at night, even though that is the time I'm awake? Should I be eating less than if I worked a normal day shift, or will my body just quot;reversequot; to match my schedule? Any serious help would be much appreciated.

Answer:

I agree with your first answer response.go for itJust stay out of the hospital this time.
5-6 days topscheck to make sure it smells good and isn;t getting a slime covering.
2-3 daysAfter that, you shouldn't eat it because you might get sick.
I would say 2-3 days but no more than 5, it might be a little yucky by then
I searched this because I'm having the same problemI had a nurse tell me You will get fat on the night shiftIf the mouth is moving the brain is awakeand she's rightSome nights in order to stay awake I have to keep munchingI try to keep them healthy but sometimes at 4 am your mouth has no control of what flies into itI do wonder about your metabolism question as wellI drink a ton of water with lemonI walk in the morning up the canyon hill with my dogsI'm doing 12,000 steps per my iPhoneI haven't gained any but even with healthy choices my weight hasn't budged.
