Question:

Mazda rx8 air intake system?

I have a 04 mazda rx8 and I wan‘t to buy a kn typhoon air intake for it, I was just on the kn website and when I checked under my year for application it says fits 2004 1.3 R2 f/i exc. eu what does the exc. eu mean?

Answer:

the master cylinder is where you put the brake fluid in and the booster sits right behind it ! that,s a liitle high of price but not too expensive because a new booster is pretty high priced and a master cylinder could be expensive depending on what kind of car or truck it is !
Instead of that air intake system you can install a Turbo kit of a brand (such as Greddy, HKS, Apexi, Turbonetics) and instal an air Filter
You may not like what I am about to say, but I think it is good advice based on what you are asking. Enjoy the car. The Mazda Rx8 is an enjoyable car without all of the added performance parts. When you do decide to add performance parts, keep it simple. I would go with a cold air intake and cat-back exahust and call it a day. Tinkering around with go fast parts is not an ideal situation when the engine is a rotary. The cold air intake and the correct cat-back exhaust can enhance the equation already baked into the vehicle without sacrificing reliablity. To my point, I believe Mazda will warranty Mazda performance parts on the Rx8, but not a turbo. I will say this, make incremental changes and see how you live with those changes and how the car handles it. You may be happy beyond belief with cai and catback. Enjoy the car. I hear it can be a wonderful ride.
I strongly recommend you dont get that particular intake. The renesis motor is like the F20C in that it's very hit or miss with upgrades, the only intake for the RX-8 I've seen that gets even a modest increase is the Revi from Racing Beat it also wont cause the rough idle you will experience with the typhoon because the revi retains one of the intake screens that provide turbulence for the MAF that it is factory tuned to expect. Go to RXtuner for more info.
