Question:

Moms top loader (vs) front loader. Which is better in your opinion?

How many of you moms traded your top loading washing machines for a front loading washing machine? What's your experience with it? Do you miss your top loader? Which is better in your opinion? I currently have a set that is at least 15 years old. I got the set from my grandmother, and she got them from Sears in 1997. They are refurbished. My set is on it's last legs, and I'm trying to decide if it would be better for a family of 6 to have a top loader or a front loader? I would appreciate any opinions on this, thanks.

Answer:

I miss the top loader. With the top loader you could fill it all the way with water, then add something to let it soak. But the front loader understandably has to lock.
i had a front loader for a pair of three hundred and sixty 5 days and a a million/2. i bought it and went back to a real load. the front loader grew to become right into a discomfort... the door could lock and not reopen whilst the cycle grew to become into achieved, the garments could scent after purely leaving them in one day, in case you place a ton of garments in (as they continually say you may stuff it) the seal does no longer close precise and leak everywhere in the floor. it grew to become into purely no longer nicely well worth the worry. they make extra efficient actual loaders now, so as that's the way i could flow...
I personally love my front loader. We got a new one a couple months ago. It holds so much more and saves lots on energy and water... and since we cloth diaper that is really important! The one thing to keep in mind with a front loader is that they are not all the same and it is extremely important to buy quality here more so than a top loader, especially considering the potential for leaks.
I have wanted a front loader washer long!! When my washer decided to stop working on me, I went out and charged a front loaders. To be honest, I miss my top loader. It was easier to load and remove the laundry. Whenever I am switching the clothes into the dryer, pieces fall here and there and it gets annoying. It seems to have a longer wash cycle too (unless using speed wash), but I have seen a small difference in the water bill, so I guess it is using less water. And the washer looks a lot nicer (not that that really matters). But I think I still actually prefer to have my old washer back. Keeping reading reviews and others' opinions before you decide whether to purchase one or not.
Neither are inherently better- top loaders are definitely easier to load, but front loaders are easier to unload! I haven't noticed any difference with how effective they are- it's a matter of personal preference really! I have a front loader- I hate bending to get the stuff at the bottom of a top loader!
