Question:

motorcycle amber face shield vs. clear shield better?

i have a 3 snap bell helmet and i really don't like wearing goggles so i thought a face shield would be the way to go for night riding. i was told by the guy in my local shop that a light amber shield would be better at night instead of clear because a clear shield always gets a glare across it from the street lights. is this true or is he just trying to sell me the slightly more expensive one?

Answer:

The National forest service regulates most of Alaska, they have fire regulations that change with the seasons sometimes a permit is needed in order to have a campfire. Sometimes there is a blanket ban on any fire use such as during the very dry season. So the person or place to ask is your local forest ranger.
simplest answer NO If you contact you local town centre, they will be able to let you know what you have to do to have a small fire it would probably involve having a pit .. water etc etc etc
Improve? for car camping add a durable tarp under the tent as a foot print and inside the tent put down what is called a furniture pad or a carpet. These two items will protect the tent floor from damaging tent furniture, boots and ground moisture. For backpacking I do the same thing but weight becomes an issue I use a poly painters tarp under the tent and a backpackers insulation pad. For repairs I use duct tape that fixes anything.
