Question:

Motorcycle brakes failure while riding?

if the internal brake mechanisms are damaged and have failed how possible is it to be without brakes without driving at high speeds.?? Is it possible for the front handle and rear foot brake to both fail?? and are those linked to the same or separate internal mechanisms. ??What is the situation of resolve if both brakes fail? Is there a way to stop or slow the bike down without brakes?

Answer:

bikes don't usually have linked brakes there 2 separated pieces of equipment. How ever if you have only 1 master cylinder for 2 brakes and it failed then neither brake would work. Read our own question again as it is a bit ambiguous!
Brakes Failure
The brakes are not linked that I have ever seen. Most of the braking power is on the front brake. But, you apply them at the same time to slow down. Chance of both failing? ZERO 30 years of riding I never had a brake fail. As long as you have room, even at a high speed let off the throttle the engine will slow the bike down till you can coast to a stop.
I have been riding motorcycles for 36 years and never had brakes fail. I have had brake cable fraying, worn out pads and shoes, bent levers , low on fluid, but thats maintenance . The closest to failure I have had was after my motorcycle came back from an insurance repair the front brake lever bolt fell out and my lever fell off while I was traveling down the highway. Luckily my peripheral vision caught that, if it would of been night time things could have been ugly. The front brake does most of the braking on most motorcycles so rear brake failure is not a threat.
