The creaking noise comes from the rear of the car. In particular the trunk area. I will ride over a speed bump going under 5mph or so and as the car rides over the bump the noise occurs. The noise sound likes an old door opening (hence, the creaking sound). Could it be the rear axel?

Microsoft Surface. iPads and Kindle Fires are media-consumption-only devices. The surface is the only one with usable productivity applications and the only one where you don't have to pay extra to get a keyboard for it (If you ever have to write even a few sentences, you will be strangling yourself if you don't have a keyboard). iPad: Don't ever get an iPad for any useful purpose. It's great fun, but that's it - it's fun. Fire: Fantastic little tablet, I'd recommend it over the iPad any day, mostly because it's so much cheaper for all the same functionality. Problem: not as many people develop for it as they do the iPad so your selection of games might be limited. Surface: basically a pared-down version of a laptop with a touch screen and detachable keyboard.

Probably for productivity I would say wither a windows tablet or ipad. At my university, the majority use ipads, and they work very well - we have no technical/IT support issues with ipads. We have students taking notes, writing papers, doing presentations, plus just entertainment stuff. The windows tablets we see fairly regularly for crashes, etc. But, they're cheaper, so I guess it's a tradeoff.
