Question:

my 3 year old is scared of alarms?

we had a fire in the house a few months ago which automatically set off the alarms. hes not scared of fire or smoke now, its just any loud alarms. does he need professional help?

Answer:

When I was a child we had them. But they have a tendency to wear thin and then the electric wires can get exposed and can indeed spark and cause a fire. My husband also warns against the use of them because there are more reported electric blanket fires than you even realize. My husband is a firefighter by the way.
It is cheap to produce It is free of water ( an electrical conductor) It is heavy than air so blanket the fire It doesn't burn at any temperature. An alternative, Halon gas is banned from use in Europe, because of its impact on the Earth's protective Ozone layer. Unfortunately that ban is yet to become worldwide.
