Answer:

I have found that putting rubber gloves on and rubbing them the same way the hair is lying gets it out. If you don't have rubber gloves, get a pair of runners/sneakers (clean the bottoms) and use one of them to rub over the hair. I know that when I get hair on the carpet if I have a pair of runners on I can use them to remove the hair (did that before I got a better vacuum cleaner). You have more control with the rubber gloves than with a lint brush because you can target especially difficult hairs. I agree that a lint brush just goes targets the top hair. Good luck.
i have a white cat with a black sofa :-( not good! lol, i use a damp cloth and rub the sofa. i find it works better than the sellotape round your hand method and the rollers you can buy and it costs virtually nothing! this method works on all fabrics and wont harm them either.
flares have to be replaced after use, hence the cheaper alternative of triangles and cones. i don't have any empirical data, but i would guess that flares are more visible in inclement weather. and of course visibility of triangles and cones depends on reflection whereas flares are a direct light source.
