Will it go for 6 weeks, 6 months or 6 years? Should I start tearing out the wall?
I've had just as good results with regular fluorescent lights as I have with grow lights. I start the seeds in the house and move them to the garage after they sprout. the 4 foot fluorescent lights are permanently mounted on the ceiling in the garage. I have a sheet of plywood supported on sawhorses for a bench. This bench is directly under the lightsnothing special, the plants do just fine.
Generally NO. since rubber or rubberlike materials flex, you will have trouble getting any rigid or semi-rigid material to stick too it. Perhaps if the rubber has a thick knob or ridge that is surrounded by the resin it would be held in place more or less by the mechanical fit of it. I don't know what you are trying to make, but you might be able to make the rigid part separately and glue the rubber on it after the fact. I found that weatherstrip and trim adhesive purchased at an auto suppy will glue rubber really well.
