Question:

my child still wets the bed ?

My seconded oldest daughter still wets the bed at the age of 12 and she has been discharged from the enuresis clinic and her dad(father) wet the bed until he was around about 11 years of age.she has tried going to the toilet before she goes to Bed but sometimes she get so tired she forgets !!!! so if anyone has any help please tell me thanks xx

Answer:

My older brother wet the bed off and on till he was 10, my sister till she was 11. I stopped at 3 years old. Huh. My cousin also had problem will he was 12. And with all three of them, it just seemed like one day they stopped, like they were more in tune with their bladder or something. I would say, no liquids a couple hours before bed, and get some pullups. They have them in her size. That is how everyone in my family did it. And just make it a habit to remind her to go to the bathroom. maybe have a code word and put it on a sign somewhere she will see it on her way to bed. (I say code word because I am sure she doesn't want her friends to see don't forget to pee on her bedroom door or whatever whenever they come over).
Get a bedwetting alarm, there pricey but they can help. Also your doctor may be able to give her medication to help her with her problem.
Try to remind her before she goes to bed. As more of a precaution, you can try setting an alarm for around midnight or something so she can get up and go. Did she see a urologist?
I had a similar problem but I was a very hard sleeper. Finally my mom got me an alarm clock and set it at midnight. I would get up and use the restroom. This worked great. Finally I learned to wake up on my own and use the restroom. Also I was not allowed anything to drink 1 1/2 hours before bed time. I know she is tired but try to get her in a routine to use the restroom before she goes to bed. It really helps!!.
I was a bed wetter past the age of 15 and my parents had me wear diapers to bed until I was dry. Since it runs in the family, if she is willing so the bedding stays dry and her pajamas too, have her wear a diaper to bed, its not as bad as it sounds either. I didn't mind wearing diapers at all because I hated waking up in a wet bed with wet pajamas, thats worse than a wet diaper for sure.
