Since you can boil water at room tempeture by taking the air out of the enviornment that the water is in, id guess u can do the opposite by adding more air molecules to the enviornment that has the ice in it to get the ice to stay in its solid form for longer-or- Get a bag of dry ice, place the (h20) ice in the bag of dry ice and seal it (you may need a lot of dry ice to get the ice to stay frozen for 24 hrs)id probably go with the first one cause its more scienctific and the dry ice may be considered cheating (or a cooler).
To keep an ice cube from melting you would need to completely separate it from its surrounding, thereby not allowing any thermal conductionThe best way to do this is to encase it in a material the has very low thermal conductionStyrofoam is a very good thermal insulator, however it’s not perfect so eventually the ice cube would melt (unless the temperature outside the styrofoam container is less than the freezing point of water).

Is it forbidden to use ice on the outside of the carton? what about dry ice? The idea of wrapping in newspaper is an old standard way of insulating ice.for a few hours, but to keep a cup sized piece of ice from melting for 24 hrs is going to require super insulation.and it would help if there was a cold enviornment that could be placed around the carton as well In other words, an enviornment of ice and salt would make it colder than 0°CAnd if that was also wrapped in a foot thick house bat insulation surrounded in a barrel with loose particle insulation.maybe it would work for 24 hrs.
