Question:

my question is about area rug for living room and dinning room?

I have an ajoining living room and dinning room, should the area rug in the living room match the area rug in my dinning room?

Answer:

No. They should contrast one another.
I would simply get different rugs but have them compliment one another... similar color schemes. Maybe one could have a larger patttern and one a smaller pattern so it's not too busy.
I also have the same setup in my home. I chose to have different rugs with similar colors. That way everything isn't to matchy matchy but still coordinates nicely.
It depends on the flow of the house and how you are trying to affect that flow. Contrasting rugs will starkly define two different living spaces while matching rugs will create a single room feel, once again depending on the layout. You obviously need to keep in mind existing design elements and then decide how you want to distinguish between or unify the two rooms.
Traditionally there never were 2 rugs the same. Its only since rugs have been mass produced that 2 rugs are the same. So its best to have rugs that look good together, but are different. Many people that are buying their first rug feel uncomfortable with different designs. Just try to think as if you are buying art that goes on the floor instead of the wall. Just try to go with the same style of rug that is casual, traditional, contemporary. get the style that fits your home or lifestyle. Take photos of the home and furniture and color swatches with you as you shop.
