my smoke detectors in my home won't stop going off could it be a short somewhere?

Answer:

It is the speed of light. I know what you're asking, everyone else doesn't seem to understand, but what if the sun disappeared. It does take 8 minutes for the light to reach us, so would we feel the gravitational effect instantly? No, it would take 8 minutes for us to realize the sun is gone and the same amount of time for the sun's impact on the planet to affect us. This has been proven experimentally. The equation to determine the strength of gravity uses not only mass, but distance, and if you can detect the gravitational forces that object A exerts on object B, then you can measure what happens if you move A and they found that when you do, the information about gravity travels at the speed of light.
Generally, the Incident Commander on-scene. But in some cities, at least, there are certain situations that trigger a second or even thrid alarm automatically, such as report of acual fire in a high-rise building, hospital, or occupied school.
Wow, how unprofessional. I'm a CMA and that's one of the FIRST things you're supposed to do with any procedure is put on gloves. I definitely do think that you should report that, because that is wrong and it's got you stressing over it. That type of professionalism makes the clinic that you go to have a bad reputation. You want to feel secure with where you go, always - especially if you're with child! But like the others said, the gloves are for the MA/Nurse's protection mainly. You'll be fine - she used a clean needle that's all that matters. Good luck to you!
