I bought a door from a guy that removed it from an old home. It works perfectly with my daughters cottage style playhouse. The only problem I am running into is that the lock is unique and I don't have a key. I will explain it my best and home someone knows. It has a part that looks like a deadbolt above the handle but upon further inspection it will lock the handle itself. The inside has a glass knob and the outside has a metal one. A very unique characteristic is that on the edge of the door just above the latch are two metal buttons that if you push one it will lock the door and if you push the other it will unlock the door. I would like to just replace the key part and keep the rest of it. First, anyone know what I am talking about? Second, anyone know where I can get parts? Thanks.

Maybe for god's sake don't live with your MIL. Adults (if you are one, it's hard to tell by the way you write and think) are happier living independently, in their own homes.
Yes it does matter. The side with the shield faces out, and the side you can see the ball bearings faces in. The shield protects the balls from dirt and other stuff.
