It's not like what the above answerer said, the neutron star do not immense heat, because its hydrogen supply had already being used up. According to , it's impossible to build a space ship around it, because it's gravity is too strong, even a tea spoon would weigh 100 million metric tons. I guess the space ship orbiting it would be suck into its surface. The neutron star is call white dwarf because it is white in colour. We would survive as long as we escape from its gravitational pull, I think.
