I am doing a traveling boutique featuring children's and a few womens clothing and accessories some of which I make and some I buy. What I am trying to figure out is my sales are pretty good at the shows I've done so far but I was hoping to get outside of my friends to hold shows and have not been successful in booking new shows. What kind of incentives should I do? I offered a tiered plan based on sales some free some discounted based on $ volumn. Should I make something that is for hosts only? Any advise related to this would be helpful. Is it okay to ask the host to help? Keep in mind that I do not do a presentation--it is an open house for a couple of hours and set up like a boutique in someones living room.
A hostess gift is a must to encourage the hostess and book new shows. ALso and percentage of there sales should be figured into a specail purchase price for them. 200-300 Sales = 15% discount and 1 booking 300-400 sales = 20% disc. 1 booking 400-500 sales = 30% and 2 bookings so on....whatever works best for you, more or less. Or give them a dollar value to shop with. If the hostes is providint refreshments you need to remember that folks won't host a show if it cost them and bundle is refreshments and they get nothing Great in return. Good Luck
Offer host only benefits, such as a discount, and a precentage of the sales (to go towards their own purchase). For instance, if the party earns $200, and you offer a 10% bonus, then the hostess gets $20 to use towards her own purchase. Offer benefits such as a discount for bringing a friend, a further discount to the hostess if she has 2 more people book parties, etc. You might want to get a catalouge printed up professionally, though, and allow outside sales, or book parties.
yes i sell candles with my mom and if you are a host of a show you get special discounts. Also my mother and i give them a free gift maybe a set of tea lights or something. Just something to say thank you for having a show.
Have you considered setting up a booth at a County Fair or Home Garden Show? At least check out the other vendors there and ask what kind of incentives they offer if people sign up to book shows. Some have a drawing for a free gift basket, and at the bottom of the card people can check boxes indicating that they want more information about booking a party. (Have your planner handy; it is even better if you can book them on the spot.)
